Guaranteed entry to the farm & play barn

Booking ahead guarantees entry to both the farm and the play barn. BUT, you are welcome to pay at the door, if that's your preference. It's very rare that we would sell out on a non-event day.

What can we do at your farm?

We are well known for all activities being included for paying child visitors who get a bucket of animal feed and can also take part in activities run by our staff through the day; a bumpy tractor trailer ride, stroke a bunny, chick chat, collect an egg to take home, pony sit-on and groom. These are all included in entry with no more to pay! We have 3 outdoor play areas as well, and plenty of animals to meet, stroke and feed. The activities run on rotation every hour, so whatever time you arrive, you won't miss out. Included in the farm visit is our Creepy Critters Barn and the Falconry! We also have a massive indoor play barn; to add a 2 hour session in there, you need to buy a "combi" ticket.

BLUE LIGHT TICKETS: We are well known for our generous Blue Light offers. These will recommence this weekend … watch this space for the booking link, coming soon!

THE BIG PLAY BARN (huge soft play) ISN'T included in the Just Farm ticket but you can buy a combi-ticket which adds 2 hours indoor play to your farm ticket. See below, for prices and options.

Do I need to book?

Whilst booking is no longer compulsory, we do not guarantee entry at our busiest weekends and bank holidays without a booking. We don't like to disappoint though, so we will always try to get you in, even if you need to wait a little for a space. BOOK WITH CONFIDENCE … We are helpful and generous with our refund/re-scheduling policy but please try and give a couple of hours notice via email.

Safety on the farm: Please read our Safety at the Farm page for guidance about how to make your visit to the farm a safe and enjoyable experience.

Included activities & the Big Play Barn

Included activities: We are well known for our included activities: the tractor trailer ride, the sit-on-a-pony, the chick chat and collect and egg. These are available for every paying child on rotation through the day and we have a times-board just after entry to photo so you don't miss anything, whatever time you arrive.

The Big Play Barn: We have a massive indoor play barn. It is possible to visit that separately without visiting the farm; however many visitors like to buy a COMBI ticket which includes both the farm AND the play barn; these can be booked on the online booking for the FARM, giving a discount against booking both venues separately. See below for COMBI pricing. For just The BIG PLAY BARN, click here to see their website and booking calendar.

Membership: While we don't offer a full membership for weekends and holidays, we do offer a school day member scheme called Barn Buddies where the play barn is free and the farm is much reduced. Click here to go to the play barn website for more info about Barn Buddies.

Disabled Access

We have very good accessibility around most of the farm and the play barn's general areas with just one ramp near the farm entrance from the lower café terrace to the main farm area. There are also several ramps on the exterior of fire exits from the play barn however these would only be used in emergency.

Wheelchair users may find the lower paddock walk and some parts of the play areas a little boggy after wet weather but most areas are flat with a hard-surface and are also mainly undercover. We do have disabled toilets and a private first aid room with a low bed that can be requested for changing purposes. Sorry, we do not have a hoist or similar lifting equipment.

Trained assistance dogs

Pets should be left at home, as the Play Barn and Farm Park are not suitable environments for a pet visit.

Assistance dogs are welcome where their presence is required to support a disabled visitor. To protect visitors, staff, our animals and the assistance dog, the Duty Manager may carry out a brief assessment before the dog enters the Farm Park or Play Barn. This assessment relates only to the individual dog's behaviour, level of control and the environment at the time – not to the visitor's disability. We do not require assistance dogs to be registered with, or trained by, a particular organisation but we do require it to be well trained and under control at all times.

Assistance dogs must remain close to their handler and under effective control, always on a lead. Persistent barking, growling, lunging, chasing animals or failure to remain under control may result in intervention. Farm animals can sometimes react defensively or become distressed by dogs. The Duty Manager may therefore ask visitors to avoid particular areas, use an alternative route or take other reasonable precautions.

Where an individual assessment identifies a significant safety or animal-welfare risk that cannot reasonably be managed, we may restrict the dog's access to a particular area or, in exceptional circumstances, refuse or withdraw access. We do not operate a blanket restriction on assistance dogs. Where access cannot be accommodated, we will consider reasonable alternatives and will offer a full refund if the visit cannot proceed. If you disagree with a Duty Manager's decision, please follow their instructions at the time and contact contact@childrensfarm.co.uk afterwards if you would like the matter reviewed.

Discounts for carers

Please note: depending on the type of carer the approach to gaining the discount is different.

For in-family carers of children: If you are the at-home / family carer for a child or a young disabled adult up to the age of 18, then you can use our normal online booking and add a carer at a special carer rate that is typically £5 less than standard adult entry.

This is for one accompanying adult, not all of the adults in the visiting family. Please have a copy of your DLA/PIP letter dated within 12 months of your attendance as this needs to be shown at front desk when picking up your tickets. Please note we also accept an in-date ACCESS/NIMBUS card as long as it has the +1 symbol.

For disabled adults with in-family carers: sorry, as a Children's attraction, we do not offer any discount for adult carers of disabled adults, but we do welcome them and will always try to accommodate their needs.

Babies

We charge normal child entry from 12 months. Under 1s come in free for a look around the animals (activities are not offered to non-paying babies).

During events there might be an optional Event charge should your baby wish to participate (e.g. see Father Christmas).

Cancellations

We do offer simple reschedules and cancellations so if you do book online, don't worry about losing your payment should your plans need to change. Please try and give a couple of hours notice via email.

Accessible visits

We're committed to making the farm welcoming for everyone. If you have specific access needs, please contact us ahead of your visit and our team will be glad to help plan the best route and experience for you. Email contact@childrensfarm.co.uk.
